Careers

Small team,
on purpose.

— and we’re hiring.

Two open roles, written like the briefs they are. If one reads like you, apply.

What we mean

Three things we actually offer, not three on a poster.

01

Proper supervision

Paid, held weekly, with someone qualified to hold it. Not a tick-box team meeting called clinical.

02

Small groups

Ratios never worse than 1:6, often 1:1. You know the young person in front of you.

03

A seat at the table

You'll shape how sessions are run. Not delivered a manual and told to execute.

Role 01

Therapeutic Support Worker

The role that actually does the thing.

Location
Higher Denham
Pay
£13–£17 / hr
Hours
Sessional · PT · FT
Contract
Permanent

You'll run an Ignite session with six 14-year-olds on Monday, write the short note that goes home with them, and pick up the phone when a parent needs a proper update on Tuesday. It's the role that holds the programme together.

What you'll do

  • Lead or co-lead small-group sessions across Ignite, Pathfinders, Quest, and the 16+ equivalents.
  • Deliver 1:1 support where a plan calls for it.
  • Write short, honest end-of-session notes.
  • Contribute to the six-week progression review.
  • Attend weekly clinical supervision — it's yours, not a formality.

What you'll bring

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Youth Work, or equivalent — or actively working toward it.
  • Experience with SEND, SEMH, or trauma-informed practice.
  • A calm, low-drama presence. De-escalation over authority.
  • Enhanced DBS (we can arrange if needed).
  • Willingness to say when something isn't working.

What we bring

  • Regular paid clinical supervision. Not an afterthought.
  • Full trauma-aware and SEND-specific training.
  • Small groups. Ratio never worse than 1:6.
  • A team that answers its own phone.
  • A pathway into session-lead and clinical roles.

Rolling applications. We read every one.

Role 02

Work Experience

Two weeks that might change what you study next.

Length
1–2 weeks
Expenses
Covered · unpaid
Age
16+
Start
School holidays · half-terms

A real placement — not photocopying and coffee runs. You'll shadow sessions, sit in (appropriately) on team debriefs, and spend your Friday afternoon with a lead talking about what you saw. You leave with a written reference that says what you actually did.

What you'll do

  • Shadow Ignite and Quest sessions from setup to tidy-down.
  • Sit in on team debriefs where it's appropriate.
  • Help prepare the room, the kit, and the kettle.
  • Keep a reflective log we'll give you a notebook for.
  • Have a proper 1:1 conversation with one of our leads at the end.

What you'll bring

  • Curiosity about therapeutic work, youth work, social care, or creative industries.
  • Reliability and confidentiality. Turning up matters.
  • Enhanced DBS (we help arrange; takes ~4 weeks).

What we bring

  • Genuine access to the work — not stapling and scanning.
  • A reference that reflects what you actually did.
  • A pathway into a paid Support Worker role if the fit is there.
  • A decent lunch.

We hold work experience places each term. Apply early.

Questions people ask

Fine print, in plain English.

Do I need a degree?

No. We care about practice, fit, and curiosity. A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent helps for Support Worker; it's not a hard requirement if you're working toward one.

What's the DBS process?

Enhanced DBS is required for every role that works with young people. We cover the cost. It takes ~4 weeks from submission; we can't start you on site until it's through.

Can I apply from outside Higher Denham?

Yes, if you can get on site reliably. We're 15 minutes from the Metropolitan line and there's parking. We don't relocate staff.

Is this full-time or sessional?

Both. We build contracts around what works — some of our team do 40-hour weeks, others do Wednesday afternoons and alternate Saturdays. Tell us what you can offer.

one more thing —

If neither role fits but the values do, email us anyway.
